Parlor Terms Overview
At Parlor, we are committed to providing simple and transparent lease terms. While our agreement to license the use of one our studios is comprehensive, the language is written to protect the business and the brand from catasphrophic situations. Because we're locally owned and operated, we're here for the long haul and working to build a community of industry professionals that value entrepreneurship. We're an inclusive and drama free space. Below you'll find the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions and you'll get a feel for how we do business.
What are the terms of the lease/license agreement?
For simplicity, we set up everyone with a 1 year lease/license agreement with an automatic month to month there after.
What if I need to cancel to my lease/license agreement?
We know things can happen and circumstances can change. Since 2020, Parlor has never kept someone stuck in their lease/license agreement or have charged them hefty exit fees. Our goal is to help you transition smoothly. All we ask in return is a 30 day notice or 2 week notice so that we can post the availability of your studio and help cover the cost to clean/paint your studio.
If you have to cancel within your first year, there is an early termination fee:
-
2 weeks notice = $500
-
30 day notice = $250
If you have to cancel after your first year, there is a termination fee:
-
2 weeks notice = $250
-
30 day notice = $0
How much is the deposit?
We do not require a deposit. We understand the associated costs in starting a business and we want this process to be as stress free as possible.
What if I want to paint/alter the studio?
-
Paint - If you want to paint your studio, a non refundable deposit of $250 is required . If you want us to paint your studio, the cost is $150 for labor plus the cost of paint.
-
Remove Equipment - We can remove shampoo stations, salon chair and mirror. There is a $100 fee to remove equipment and place in storage.
-
Alterations - NO other alterations can be made to the studio without a written request through our tenant platform.
Grow your income.
At Parlor, we want you to grow your income. Think about additional services you can offer because you're in a private studio. Also, consider carrying products to cross-sell your clients to increase your margins with each customer. Remember to revisit your pricing structure. Often, clients don't mind paying more to have privacy of a studio and more engaging conversations with you. Be sure to ask for referrals, take pictures, have your clients tag you in and Parlor in social media branding.
Basic rules we enforce:
